Grenada Activities

Your trip to Grenada can be laid back and relaxing, packed with activity from morning to night, or a balanced mixture of both.  Luckily for the vacationer who likes to get up and go, there are endless activities options.

Water Sports

For many travelers, the draw of an island vacation is the opportunity to spend time out on the water participating in water sports.  Whether you are body surfing the waters of a south coast beach, or building sandcastles along the shore, don’t let your vacation pass you by without getting wet.  A great way to spend your time in Grenada is by chartering a boat .  This way you can spend some time sailing around the island, fishing , water skiing, and even snorkeling .  Signing up for a dive class and exploring one of Grenada’s many wreck sites is an experience you will never forget, so don’t let the fact that you may have to take a resort dive course deter you.

Sports

Just because you are on vacation, doesn’t mean you have to give up on your exercise routine.  If you plan to stay active during your trip to Grenada, there are numerous ways to do so.  Golf and tennis tend to be some of the most popular vacation activities, despite the limited opportunity to do either on the island.  Eco-tourism is popular in Grenada, so trails for hiking and biking offer visitors the option of getting their exercise in while exploring their surroundings.

Shopping

Souvenir shopping in Grenada focuses on natural items, such as hand crafted jewelry, locally distilled rum, and artwork depicting scenes of nature.  Locally owned shops can be found throughout the island, but your best bet if you are looking for a mall setting is St. George’s or Grand Anse.  Also located on the beach in Grand Anse is an outdoor vendor market, a popular place for vacationers to pick up a few items.

Events and Festivals

Continuing the all-natural trend, many of Grenada’s most popular events and festivals focus on sports fishing, sailing, and all things outdoors.  Visiting one of the island’s cultural festivals is a great way to learn about what is important to locals, as well a unique opportunity to mingle with locals and sample regional fare.

Nightlife

Compared to many of the other Caribbean islands, Grenada has a quiet nightlife ; but this certainly doesn’t mean that there is nothing to do when the sun goes down.  Be on the lookout for moonlit beach parties, dive bars, sports pubs, and the occasional night club on nights when you want to go out and have fun.

Grenada may not be known for offering vacationers a fast-paced, big city vacation, but there is still plenty to do during your vacation.  Whether you plan to visit the many attractions , hit the outdoor market in Grand Anse , spend your days on a chartered boat, or go on the prowl to find the most hopping nightlife, there is never a dull moment in Grenada – unless you want there to be!
