Hotels, ranging from small guesthouses and inns to luxurious resorts, are concentrated in two areas in Grenada and Carriacou. Whether travelers want a quiet vacation experience away from large crowds, or a luxurious experience in the heart of town, they'll be satisfied with their options in Grenada, Carriacou, and even remote Petite Martinique.
The most popular tourist area in Grenada is the southwest region of the island, which includes the captivating capital of St. George's and the pristine beach areas of Grand Anse. Accordingly, most hotels and guesthouses on Grenada are located in this region, and many overlook the area's famous white-sand beaches. Properties are available with more than 200 rooms and as few as 12. Other locations on the island, including La Sagesse Bay, offer more privacy and quiet.
The majority of accommodations in Carriacou are located around Hillsborough, and these hotels and guesthouses offer privacy and romance in small establishments that typically have fewer than 25 rooms. Many have less than 10. These accommodations still offer amenities such as dining rooms, bars, kitchenettes, and pools. There are also a small number of guesthouses on Petite Martinique, though travelers should be aware that there is very little on this island in the way of traditional tourist entertainment. For seclusion on a small tropical island, however, guests are unlikely to be disappointed.

Prices for hotels and guesthouses in Grenada can range from inexpensive and affordable to very expensive. During high season, room rates at guesthouses on all of the islands can start as low as $22(USD) to $30(USD). Rates sometimes fluctuate between $40(USD) and $100(USD), however. Lodging in some of the island's upscale hotels and resorts can cost travelers significantly more money. Rates can start as low as $70(USD) but typically cost between $180(USD) and $425(USD). Rates for the most expensive hotel suites and cottages can soar above $800(USD). Hotels charge an 8 percent government tax and occasionally a 10 percent service charge on top of the rate.
The amenities available to you will depend on the style of vacation you wish to have, and the style of hotel you choose. Luxurious resorts, even if they are not considered all-inclusive, can offer travelers a number of amenities and benefits such as restaurants, tennis courts, pools, and laundry services. Smaller inns and guesthouses can afford a greater level of privacy, while still offering benefits such as kitchenettes, pools, and bars.
Travelers should check with their hotel or guesthouse prior to traveling to find out which amenities are available. If it's important to you, make sure your hotel has air conditioning, fans, kitchenettes, and safes. Travelers should also keep in mind that electricity in Grenada is 220 volts at 50 cycles, which is different from the United States. Many hotels offer dual voltage shave units, but travelers should learn what types of transformers or adapters may be necessary at their specific hotel.
