Grenada offers many types of accommodations, from charming guest houses and inns to luxurious mega-resorts and large hotels. In fact, "Spice Island" has some of the most beautiful and diverse lodging options in the Caribbean, so finding accommodations that meet your ideals should be a breeze.

As you look through your lodging options, remember that if you choose to stay at a hotel or resort, be prepared to pay an 8 percent government tax on all rooms as well as a 10 percent service charge. Also, travel during the high season is costly, and accommodations are expensive. But rooms are reduced up to 30 percent if you travel to Grenada in the off season.

Location

In the general vicinity of the capital city of St. George vacationers will find a large variety of lodging offerings – particularly on the Southern edige of the city and beyond. You'll find everything from budget motels to luxury resorts in this general area.  Wave Crest Holiday Apartments and Petite Bacaye Villa Hotel are two options in this area. Many travelers like to stay near the city, in order to be near the many landmarks and attractions, as well as the island's most beautiful beaches.

Perhaps the most popular place for accommodations on the entire island is the area stretched along and beyond Grand Anse beach, which is just south of the capital city.  The beaches are the big draw, but it also features a good selection of restaurants, watering holes, and other attractions.  There are several resorts in this part of the island, with the Spice Island Beach Resort being the most notable (and perhaps the most costly) option.

There are other choices for guests who are looking for a bit more seclusion and autonomy.  L'Anse aux Epines to the south, Sauteurs to the north, and Gouyave along the mid-western coast all offer a smattering of hotels and rental properties.

Options

Hotels

Reserving a room at an all-inclusive hotel or resort will ensure your vacation is well-planned and simple. All-inclusives provide most things you could want on a vacation, on one property, paid for by one bill. Most offers include meal plans, entertainment, and activities as part of the package, so you can let the resort sort out the details while you relax and enjoy the island. When making arrangements at your all-inclusive, be sure to ask which amenities are included. Not all resorts offer the same extras, so it's best to know what you're paying for to avoid any misunderstandings. Find out more about the amenities and extras offered by spending some time with our Best Hotels For pages, star-based rating system, and alphabetical listing of accommodations on the island, all of which can help you take an in-depth look at your hotel and resort options.  Lasource Grenada All-Inclusive is one of the island's all-inclusive options.

...from small guest houses to fantastic mega-resorts...

If you'd prefer to schedule and select your own activities and eat at new restaurants every night, you can always stay in a traditional hotel or resort that offer meal plans and some special amenities but are not necessarily all-inclusive. Grenada has a number of luxurious hotels and resorts ranging from small guest houses to fantastic mega-resorts, some with on-site golf courses.

Vacationers on a budget can find low to moderately priced hotels and resorts starting around $30(USD) for a bare-minimum room up to $200(USD) per night for lodgings with a few more amenities. More lavish rooms and suites can cost more than $500(USD) per night.

Condo & Villa Rentals

Rental properties like Prickly Bay Waterside are popular with groups of travelers or vacationers planning on extended stays in Grenada. Many families take advantage of these lodgings that offer more privacy and welcome guests to come and go as they please. Rental properties provide the comfort of large living spaces, kitchenettes, and private bathrooms. Most rental villas and cottages are located away from the crowds of large resorts and hotels. Costs of rental properties vary, but you can expect to spend $35(USD) to $65(USD) per night for an inexpensive cottage and up to $425(USD) per night at an upscale villa.

Camping & Eco-Tourism

If you're a nature fan, free camping sites are available on Grenada, where eco-tourism is very popular. There are over 300 camping options on the island, but many vacationers enjoy pitching a tent at Great Etang National Park.  On Grenada's smaller sister island of Carriacaou, campers are allowed to set up one school grounds or church property.  You may also enjoy finding a hotel or lodge that specializes in eco-tourism, such as the Cabier Ocean Lodge. Personal Considerations

Choosing your accommodations in Grenada is about more than your personal desires. Instead, vacation planners have to consider a range of factors that will benefit them and those they are traveling with.

Party Size

The number of people, and the type of group you are traveling with will affect the choice you make regarding where you stay. Couples planning a romantic getaway will choose a resort such as Jameson Inn, which is known for its intimate, romantic atmosphere, over Rex Grenadian, which is a family-friendly establishment perfect for guests traveling with children.  Alternatively, if you're planning a ladies spa weekend, Allamanda Beach Resort and Spa might be for you. Larger groups will want to be on the look out for hotels with suites large enough to accommodate them, like Mount Harmon Bay Estate or consider renting a villa or condo.

Interests

Finding lodgings nearest the attractions and activities you are interested in is ideal.  Some hotels even have packaged that cater to the things you are interested in, such a diving, fishing, spa treatment, and nature.  The Flamboyant Hotel & Villas, for example, works closely with Dive Grenada to create the ultimate dive vacation.

Length of Stay

Most people travel to Grenada for a weekend or even a week of tropical scenery. These vacationers will be perfectly fine staying in your typical hotel or all-inclusive resort. For guests planning a longer stay, a rental property will be best.  Often these come with kitchens that allow guests to plan and cook their own meals, and separate bedrooms so the accommodations will feel more like home.

Quality

As you search for lodgings in Grenada, our Star Rating system can help you to decode some of the offerings of each option.  The system assesses what each property has to offer, taking the price of the locale out of the equation.

One and Two Stars

At Grenada's 1 Star properties you can expect to find a small hotel, owned and operated by the same person or family.  The rooms will not be large, and have few amenities, but the care with be personalized.  This is fine for vacationers who do not intend to spend much time in their rooms, but rather out exploring the island. Grenada's 1 Star properties include Coral Cove Cottages, West Crest Holiday Apartments, and Monmont Hotel.

Medium-sized, but still with rooms on the small end, 2 Star hotels may be locally owned, or be a part of a small national chain.  The amenities will likely still be sparse, but this location may have either an on-site restaurant or room service. Grenada's 2 Star properties include Grand View Inn, Cabier Ocean Lodge, La Sagesse Nature Center, and Paradise Bay Resort.  Expect to pay between $30 and $100(USD) for a 1 to 2 Star property.

Three Stars

Three Star locations are much more specious than the lower rated properties, and feature much nicer amenities.  The rooms may not be fancy and appointed with lavish décor, but the service will be good, and there will room service and perhaps a restaurant. Grenada's 3 Star properties include Blue Horizons Garden Resort and Bel Air Plantation Resort.  The cost of a 3 Star hotel can cost anywhere from between $75 and $250(USD).

Four Stars

Above average when it comes to size, appointments, and care, 4 Star properties in Grenada feature some extras that most vacationers don't want to pass up, like a jacuzzi tub or a flat screen television. Grenada's 4 Star properties include Mount Cinnamon Resort and Calabash Hotel & Villas.  Four Star properties begin to get a bit more expensive, ranging from $100 to $500(USD) in price.

Five Stars

For the best accommodations in all of Grenada, choose a 5 Star hotel.  These properties have quite large rooms, excellent service, luxurious linens, very carefully selected appointments, and a lot of extras that make the often extra cost worth it.
We do not currently have any 5 Star properties listed in our data base, but check back soon for new listings.  The service at a 5 Star resort can be considered to be priceless by some. Still, you will have to fork over between $150 and upwards of $1000(USD) for such a stay.

Hotel Search

On top of all this, we also offer an advanced search tool which allows you to search for hotels that meet your specific needs.  You can also search for hotels that have rooms available during your preferred travel dates. Finally, you can even use this tool to make your reservations.
